08/08/2018Gorey Fête - Further details of road closures

Road Closures:

On Wednesday 15th August, Gorey Coast Road between Beach Road and its junction with Mont de Gouray and La Route de la Cote will only be open one-way to traffic heading south.  After 6:00 pm the road will be closed in both directions until 12:00 noon on Friday the 17th of August.

Parking on Gorey Hill from Devon Gardens to Camellia Cottage will not be allowed during this period of time and the small car park on Gorey Hill alongside Pizza Quarter will also be closed. Parking will also be suspended on the one way slip road from Gorey Village to Gorey Hill.

Resident Parking:

The Coast Road from the Welcome Slipway as far as Devon Gardens (south) will be available for Residents-parking only. Access to premises and parking along the Coast Road will be from the junction at Beach Road and will only be allowed by showing your "Parking Passes" to the Honorary Police in attendance. Parking is limited and unfortunately once the road is full then motorists should park in one of the Fete car parks.

Please can all residents ensure that a contact telephone number is written on the "Parking Pass" so that Event Organisers can contact the vehicle owner in the event of the vehicle needing to be moved.

A free "Park & Ride" system will be operating from 9:00 am until 11:00 pm on the day of the Fete. It will run between the car parks at Jersey Activity Centre, Seymour Farm and the northern entrance to the Fete at Devon Gardens on Gorey Hill. Please feel free to utilise this service.

Access to premises along New Road and Old Road are as normal. Access to premises between the Welcome Slipway and Beach Road will be via Gorey Village, down Old Road and then turning right onto the Coast Road. Turning left towards the Fete will not be allowed.

27/07/2018Nomination meeting will be held 1 August 2018 at 8.15pm for the office of Centenier

An Assembly of Electors of the Parish of St Martin will be held on Wednesday 1 August 2018 at 8.15pm at the Public Hall to receive nominations of persons wishing to be admitted as a candidate for the office of Centenier. If there are more candidates than vacancies the Royal Court has fixed Wednesday 12 September 2018 for the taking of a poll.

A person who is eligible as an elector and whose name is on the Electoral Register is entitled to vote in the Election. The Electoral Register closes at 12pm on Tuesday 31 July 2018. If you have not yet registered to vote and wish to be entered on the Electoral Register contact the Parish Secretary.
